I have a ratteling sound at the fifth and sixth gear in my 2007 Renault Trafic 1,9 dci,47000 miles. No sound when the gearbox and engine is cold. No noise from the other gears, warm or cold. The rattle was present both when accelerating and when I let the foot of the gas.
Result was a new gearbox, I ended up hireing an almost new Trafic taking the gear box out of that putting it in my van and my damaged one in the hire van, then selling my van! it's rife in van range dont bother with a recon as they tend not to last either.
