" is Illegal for a driveway/garage to be block stopping you from leave"

It is also illegal to park in such a way as to cause an obstruction or to park with your wheels on the pavement, yet several roads round here are regularly obstructed by cars parked on both sides of the road, with wheels up on the pavement.

The police refuse to do anything about it because it would make them 'unnecessarily' unpopular and lead to a great deal of inconvenience for those parking.

One of the roads leads to the station and the cars are parked in that road to avoid paying the charges in the local carpark. The other day the road was so obstructed that an emergency vehicle was unable to get to where it needed to be without causing damage and then the police ticketed every damaged vehicle for illegal parking. ( The usual excuse from drivers being that when they parked, there wasn't a vehicle opposite so they weren't causeing an obstruction, but if the car is parked on the pavement it is obvious that it was expected to be causing an obstruction).
