I think you are getting carried away with your ideas of conforming in other countries.

"let me put it another way....if you immigrated to india, pakistan or iraq, would you go prancing down the street with a huge cross on your hat proclaiming your catholic, or a massive rainbow flag cos your gay, let your missus wear a skirt NO!!!!!...because if you did youd be hung, shot or put in prison!!..WHY!!!..because if you go over there you have to abide by their customs and traditions!"

I do not have detailed knowledge of India or pakistan but lived in Iraq with my family for a few years. Many Iraq nationals are christians and they do have churches. Many Iraqi women wear skirts and the full black clothing tended to be found mainly in the villages rather than the towns. Have to say thast my experience was before the two gulf wars so Iraq may have become less liberal.

I did not realise that Muslims could avoid weraring crash helmets although i remember that Seik's got an exemption because of their turbans.
