Instead of constantly tinkering with the rules to try and make each championship go down to the wire.

Why not just make it nice and simple, take a leaf from touring cars and add or subract weight from each driver depending on where they are in the championship.

After all it's not really sport anyway, it's just entertainment for the masses, so why pretend it's anything else.
