"Either way it is still the prerogative of the driver behind not to hit the driver in front regardless of closing speed."
No....thats not the case. You are all forgetting the "one move" rule. This was a straight with a right hander onto it, and a right hander at the end of it. When exiting the right hander onto the start of the straight Senna was on the left hand side of the track. He then went into "karting mentality" default blocking mode, and moved across to the middle of the track. That was his one move allowed in the rules! His subsequent swerve to the left when MS was about to overtake was against the rules.
But regardless of the one move issue, if you're saying that a driver is allowed to swerve in front of an overtaking driver travelling perhaps 15mph faster, at the last moment, giving the overtaker no chance of avoiding a collision, and for the blame to be on the overtaker, then how are we ever going to have any overtaking at all??
Bottom line is that Senna should have driven down that straight on the left side of the track, just as they were all doing in practice to achieve their fastest lap, particularly given that he wasn't even trying to lap fast at that time (he admitted he was braking early)!!!
