yep heat would be best but if that fails you could use a nut splitter ,but take your time or you could with the use of a grinder , grind through one flat of the nut and if either method is done slowly and with great care you should end up with the nut slightly opening up and go loose. and underneeth you should have a good undamaged thread,, in the motor trade this is quite common so if you arn't keen to do it ask a good mechanic or ask who does there head skims and you may end up at a very good engineers door like the chap that does mine , they will have the tools to do it and i doub't will charge that much,, good luck
