I think Ian can go over the top sometimes when he is trying to make a point. It doesn't really bother me but at the same time I do think it's unnecessary when the point can be made relatively easily without the drama ; )

I also think it's unnecessary to hang on every word somebody states to try and turn a discussion into an argument. It's like speaking to an MP who is twisting and spinning your words and throwing them back at you. My point is not just aimed at Ian but is common place all over the internet. I find it very tiring and as such when a discussion starts to go in that direction I generally just ignore it, as I can't see the benefit in continuing.

Life is too short for what I deem as pretty much meaningless arguments when the point could be made in a single post.

So for Ian’s benefit, I didn’t mention anything about any of the other drivers having any loyalties, I was merely making the point that Alonso has shown that he has absolutely zero loyalties and doesn’t care one bit about who he upsets (probably a bit like you Ian ; ) ) As such it means that we can expect anything to happen due to his sheer ruthlessness.

Comparing Alonso to the other drivers, I think the other drivers tend to hold back a little bit, they might know what they want but they don’t want to upset anyone and aren’t quite as ruthless, as such they bide their time a little and try and make the transition between teams as amicable as possible. Alonso is different though, if he is not happy he is very vocal in the press about it, it’s like putting out an advert to get what he wants. I wouldn’t be surprised if he hasn’t got any friends on the grid, but the funny thing is he commands the respect of the whole grid and the teams and the fans due to his driving ability.
