I was impressed with Perez in the Sauber but very unimpressed with him and the way he is driving in the McLaren. I'd probably liken it (If you will forgive me) to a really good player in a reasonable team who shines but when moved to a top top team, the weight of expectancy and the pressure to perform seem to weigh heavily.
When I think about it,even when it was announced while Perez was still in the Sauber, the few races he had to finish the season were similarly iffy. I think from then on he failed to understand what it was that was working and seemed to try a little too hard
Maybe it will change with a season under his belt
