Economics of racing, will grid sizes drop???

Just really to see what people think will happen to motorsport and karting in general with the current financial markets in turmoil and whether certain classes might get a resurgence such as tkm where almost all aspects of the kart can be maintained by the driver and or mechanic.

I mean we all know of some of the stupid amounts of money being bounded around for top carbs, engines, magic whatevers etc etc. So will we see some levelling of the grids when certain financial restraints are put on a few people???
