Putoline Tech Chain Ceramic Chain Wax is the best I've come across. Lots for sale on Ebay and at the local Motorbike shops.
Spray well in advance of running and let it bed in. Watch the inside of your chainguard for any fling! Nothing! As Alan said, you need to spray on the inside of the chain, not on the top as the chain passes over the sprocket!
Easy to clean with left-over petrol at the end of the day!
