Starting out Pro Kart

Hi Guys, Just looking into buying a pro kart to start endurance racing with a few mates. just been looking at a few and was just wondering if any one and give any advice, also do you need to buy a new pro kart to be competitive in this class. I see alot advertised for around £700.
