Les G i think you are probably correct. As there is no control fuel in LGM a proper test would take forever given the different combinations of fuel/oil. Also it would cost a fortune. It was probably done as a deterent but if the test were not carried out on the samples then it may just encourage people to use 'suspect fuel' in future knowing that nothing will be done about it (again). Not good for LGM series.
