Pfi round one Mac is taken out from fourth in the final and although his kart is still running Peter jones prevents him from rejoining the race. Mac swore out of exasperation. The kid who knocked Mac off recieved a ten second penalty and three points. Mac gets three points and a £150 fine Which was listed under the rule of abusing an official. I appealed the penalty to the stewards on the grounds that he had not abused anyone. Peter Jones account altered considerably from the initial hearing to the stewards enquiry. the stewards thanked mac for his honesty and agreed his language was not abusive to anyone but as he had sworn the penalty would stand.
At Rowrah Mac started second on the grid in one of the heats with Alex Gill on pole, on the rolling lap Alex carb dumped and he struggled to get going when the lights turned green, after the race which Mac won by five seconds from Roy we were called to the office to recieve a jump start penalty given by Peter Jones but handed to us by Pip. There were three drivers who crossed the line before alex including the driver behind him. I couldn't afford the £340 appeal fee so had no choice but to accept it.
Llandow final Mac goes past charlie on the inside of macwirters bend. Charlie got onto the sausage kerb which most people who have raced there know it sucks you in. After the finish we were called to the office due to a protest by charlies mother. witnesses were called and the account of all my witnesses were attempted to be altered by peter jones . It was eventually agreed that Mac was on the inside line, no contact took place and he was in front when Charlie went off. However Peter jones found some obscure rule that has nothing to do with karting and deemed an advantage had been gained by Mac overtaking and gave him a five place penalty.
Genk. going to Belgium Mac still had a mathematical chance if winning the championship but only if we scored well in the finals because of the way the drop scores work. on saturday in the final Mac was knocked off from the lead and in front of Pip, one of the clerks, in the clerks office Pip confirmed he had seen the other lad knock Mac off and subsequently excluded him. the lad appealed to the stewards and suddenly the clerk wasn't sure of what he had seen.
Shenny. In one of the heats mac and another driver were pushing together most of the race. on the last lap Mac crashed into the other lad on a flat out part of the track and the other driver went off. we were again called into the office to see Nigel Edwards who asked mac what had happened. Mac told him he was pushing with the driver in front when in Mac's oppinion the lad backed off or braked and mac hit him. Nigel said it was Mac's responibility to make sure any overtaking move was safe. I pointed out that Mac was not overtaking as by this point we could only get fourth in the championship and only had to have better finishes than sam to achieve this. Nigel wanted to exclude mac and ruin any chance of him being fourth. however the other boys father told Nigel that was to harsh a punishment and as i have said previously I am very gratefull to him. Instead we had to accept another three points and a £50 fine. I have never been so glad to accept such a penalty and hope I am never in that position again. I hope you can now see why I am so critical of the stars championship
