Accept all of that but if you reduce the number of rounds then that's almost a fixed cost and you know up front what you're in for barring repairs etc.

That way you can make an informed decision.

If oyu increase the number of rounds and are allowed to drop 2 then there are all sorts of permuatations where for example a driver starts off well, has 2 poor rounds and wasn't planning to do the last round because of cost but almost feels they have to otherwise their season has been for nothing.

I agree with the comment that it's not easy for any organiser to get it right. It's just that sometime decisions are made that appear to be, er, strange and without any basis.

Or maybe I've just too far down the food chain to see/heat what's going on!
