I'd have to guess not. One reason is that a weekend ago I was told that it seemed unlikely that there would be any changes to the restrictors for 09. Ron Shone was driving a Maxi with a grey restrictor and I was on a standard with a grey restrictor.

There doesn't seem to be any point in changing to the Maxi, since the class is restricted down to provide similar performance across the range.
The topweight restrictor for the Maxi is a non-restrictor, it is the same size as the carb throat, so it isn't as if one could move the whole class up in performance by demanding that everyone bought new engines.
