The front torsion bar on our OTK is oval. The settings we normally use are as follows. Dry = bar sits flat, inter = bar sits 45 degrees, wet bar sits vertical. I've been told many times to take the bar out or run it loose (clamps not tightend up) in wet conditions. I can't get my head round why. If the bar is flat in the dry it has more flex, to then go to vertical in the wet - the bar is more rigid to then go with no bar / loose bar would be max flex. Any one any ideas and what is actually happening with the bar in the different positions for different conditions? I know you can get different thickness round bars - what conditions would they be used for and what is happening with them?
