I think the best thing to do when starting out is to go with something that's popular, B&S motor isn't so don't bother wasting your time & cash as you'll learn nothing. My personal view is go the 2 stroke way if you want to learn what to do with motors/carbs. Absolutely avoid WTP as above, there's loads of Comer W60's now & cheap. Motors are bead reliable, just maintain carb that's it. Or go IAME which are great but you will be paying good £ as they're current hardware. Or stick with 4 stroke Honda & go round all day but maybe not the driving excitement, if that's needed at your kids stage. Hope this helps but either way everybody will help you if you listen that's for sure.
