What Graham is saying is that the X2 is not approved as it then offers an unfair advantage to a user by virtue of a more powerful signal. Until fully tested and advantages / disadvantages are proven it is likely that the X2 type will remain un-approved. Which part of 'another good plan' does your post indicate is wrong, the non approval by the MSA or the sale of item by the supplier? In this case if an advantage can be gained by simply purchasing one of the new transponders imagine the outcry if they were authorised! that would instantly render all of the 160 transponders non competitive forcing all to fork out more hard earned and change.
