We've had work pop-up's by instant marquees and they've been bomb proof, 5 years on the canvas is still tight and they still look good. They are heavy square section legged but it seems most companies have gone hex for their top models, not sure why!
What I would agree is one of the other comments, most damage is by people not securing them to the ground and 3m by 3m is a big kite! I usually try and park at one side and tie that side down to my van wheels, then wake or stake the other-side. If secured properly even cheaper awninging will survive surprisingly high winds. Cheaper ones do show there age quickly though!
