Regarding the Manx, it was made by Upton circa 73/74. the first batch of engines were machined from solid. many parts are interchangeable with the Komet K77 and K88, such as the crank, rotary valve cover, rod and piston. As mentioned by others, the main bearings are a shrink fir into the crankcases and the fit of the bearing to the crank is sliding fit. One thing to note about the Manx is that the Aluminium used is quite poor and it is easy to strip threads and the main bearings can come loose int the crankcases. If you use bearing fit adhesive, it should hold them in place. What is the serial number on yours?
