I have been told by Rotax that the new barrel/engine will be faster than any other used engine that is out there. this is great news for us as we hire engines from top teams, which means instead of hiring a fast motor for 5-6K/season we can now buy one for less than 2K and can resell it next year but engines that were worth 6K are now worth nothing unless the new engine/barrel is not living up to expectations. time will tell but unfortunately Rotax have missed the boat as nearly all the S1 cadet drivers who have moved have gone the X30 way leaving Minimax with no quality drivers and junior max will only have certain grids at club level. the sport is fragmented with too many choices.
