In that case you can legitimately experiment with the clearances to see if you can find an advantage, if you choose. I would start with .005 inch (5 thou). clearance on each (piston at TDC. at end of compression stroke) with the engine cold. Warm up to normal temperature and check the hot clearance to see how, and how much the clearance alters cold to hot. IMO a hot clearance between 4 and 10 thou will be ok, and as ' Knighty' suggests, the larger clearance will favour low revs pull, the tighter clearance top end power. In theory at least. Don't expect too much! Alternatively you can get a figure from RPM or listen to others who know more about it than I do.
