I wasn't too sure about the following excerpt from the ABkC 2017 News Letter when I read it when it was first issued.

Now as far as I know the duty of insurance under OUR Road Traffic Act would only require insurance on a vehicle adapted solely for use on a public road or driven in a public place. Karts aren't adapted for road use.
