If you're looking for cheap costs maintenance wise, Rotax 100%. we got 40 hours out of my junior motor (2 and a half years of full racing) before it let go. Newer 2-strokes are much better reliability wise than the old TKM's etc. Performance is pretty good also and as mentioned above, if you want to race them, there are championships all over the UK for Rotax and x30.
