If you don't back off the engine stop at least half a turn after you do the chain tension, it can crack the chassis just in front of the bearing cassette.

It can be difficult to see sometimes but it has the effect of a lame dog on corners.

Depending on your weight, 89 is a bit large for Rye.

Trying to guess your problem is difficult, it's better to see the actual kart and hear it on track.

When are you at Rye again?
