For those who have been inundating me with questions about Motorsport UK British Champs Coverage, I had a meeting to discuss this with Dan Parker last weekend. Nothing has been decided as yet, nor will it affect filming of Super 1 if John/Darren want me to continue filming at the new BKC Super 1 events.

As for the UKC series, many seem to think I am part of the organisation of this championship. Just to clarify, I am not, but have quoted to film it for Free Sports HD should it go ahead.
Alongside everything else, I am now pleased to announce our TDi Media UK Clubs' Tour plans for 2020.

We are planning a single class cadet series, with a new level of media coverage...... ALL HEATS AND FINALS FILMED at every round. As such, this series is destined to become the biggest cadet championship in world karting over 8/9 rounds, with an expected audience of 1-2 million during 2020 on YouTube alone.

These rounds will be part of club meetings and possibly other championship rounds only, WITH RACING ON SATURDAYS ONLY PLANNED AT THIS STAGE, in order to support UK clubs, and allow drivers to do a second event elsewhere on the Sunday, should they wish to do so. I do not want to create any other standalone events, and none of these events will clash with Super One dates, where racing is Saturday and Sunday.

The single class is Micromax, with Honda Cadet also under consideration. The decision is ultimately subject to the necessary support. A maximum of 34 drivers will be allowed to register, and if we achieve this number, the registration process will close and a reserve list generated in the event drivers registered do not enter the opening round.
Our Micromax supplying partners will be Modus Motorsport, who have done much of the Micromax testing in the last few months at Hooton Park. Each driver will have to purchase at least one engine from Modus to take part in the series. Spare engines can be sourced from any rotax supplier, and a 950mm cadet chassis can be used if preferred. Modus supply the Haase Chassis and any engine chassis combination purchased can be tested at Hooton Park on the day of purchase free of charge, with support from Dave Wilson at Modus.

In isolation, when compared to typical registration and entry costs, the costs will be higher, but the cost takes into account there could only be the one class featured. Drivers will therefore be in EVERY race, with random grid positions for the heats meaning there is more chance of exposure for every driver in the field……

The cost of being part of this unique championship series, with the maximum amount of exposure for drivers and sponsors alike, will be as follows:
Registration will be £250, with entry fees per round £250.
Race numbers on karts for the top 10 drivers in the championship following the opening round will reflect the position of those drivers’ in the championship at the end of the previous round, from 1-10. We are pleased to be working with Glossworx who will produce bodywork decals for the championship leader to use at the start of every round from Rd 2 onwards, similar to the Yellow jersey concept in the Tour de France. The decals will feature the driver's name, race number 1, and show "Championship Leader"..... a great memento if you ever lead the championship at any point.

I Have created a poll out of interest. A minimum of 24 drivers would be required for a class to feature. In the event we do get interest and registrations of 24 or more in EACH class, the entry fees will be reduced from £250 to £200 per round. Any sponsorship monies raised will ALL go direct to a driver prize fund, but at this stage you should assume this is unlikely. For clarity and the avoidance of doubt....If I get a £50,000 sponsorship deal, every penny will go to the drivers. If we achieve a full grid in any class (34), the final winner will receive free entry and slick tyres to the next round, 2nd and 3rd free entry. I am also seeking interest from Sponsors to provide end of season prizes.

This cost will be prohibitive to some, so if it is not for you, I understand. The costs of organisation and filming/editing has to be covered by one or two classes only, rather than typically across 6-10 classes. Bear in mind the benefit to drivers will be EVERY race filmed and online during the following week, maximum exposure for sponsors and a lifetime of memories to look back on... Win a single heat during the season and no doubt you will watch it back a thousand times and bore everyone with tales of your karting prowess for the next 50 years!

No point in telling me it's too expensive... If you are a naysayer and don't want to be included, you are not forced to enter. However, If you do, understand that this is likely to be the biggest Cadet karting series in the world with the greatest number of views across all of the heats and finals, bar none.

A calendar will be out in the next two weeks, and at this point, the registrations will open for one or both classes. You will not need a race licence but will have to demonstrate race experience to take part. A maximum of 34 drivers only will be allowed per class, and once achieved, registration will close, with reserve places only then available. NO other classes will be considered for 2020. We may review this in 2021 subject to feedback.

I will be doing a kart show live on the YouTube channel in the next few weeks to firm up on our final plans, including dates and circuits.
Take part in the poll now on our fcebook page if you have a cadet shaped driver!

For clarification.... There is not a "NO" option, because I only need to know how many would say "Yes"... There will always be more saying No than Yes.... I only need to know how many will actually say Yes.
