Hi Jon,

not a good idea to belt hell out of them, try a good lubricant like Copper Grease and ensure the axle is clean and free from burrs before starting. If you must, drive them on the axle by means of a suitable drift on the bearing inner race, not the outer.

You could use a tubular drift that fits over the axle and contacts with the bearing's inner race, try to keep the bearing square on the axle or it will jam.

Don't drive them home on the outer race as this will damage the bearing track and ball bearings, leading to early failure.
