Thanks for the pictures.

This is an early 1980s Deavinson Sprint chassis with a Sirio 100cc engine, at a guess I'd say 1982. From the metric rear axle [30mm], nerf bars and newer KP brake, I can tell it's definitely not 1970s vintage. You've got the correct rims, floorpan and seat. The fuel tank doesn't look to be original. The Sirio motor looks like an ST50 and could be slightly older than the chassis, but not much.

There is no class that you can race this kart today. You will be allowed to take it out for private owner/driver practice days at Rye House or Tilbury, but you'll need to fit an intake silencer and a different exhaust.

This kart is a full race machine with a full race engine. They're VERY highly tuned with a life of about 2.5 hours. I would recommend a full rebuild before you run it. Also, the kart doesn't look serviceable to me. I would be surprised if the brakes work without fresh seals. You'll also need newer tyres.

Unfortunately there's not much demand for these karts/engines. If it was a 1970s vintage Sprint it would be worth more. I would imagine its probably worth around GBP150 or so. I bought a Sprint/Parilla TT27 in better condition for around GBP120 last year on eBay.

So your options would be :

o Spend a minimal amount fixing it up and drive it until you blow it up.

o Fully restore the thing and wait a few years until becomes collectable [if it does].

o Sell it to somebody like me :-) Let me know if you want to do this.
