I took my son to Tatershall last weekend for his first ever trackday in his new kart.I hired one of the tracks karts while we were there so i could keep an eye on him and to just bolster his confidence a bit.We had a great morning, the track wasn't to busy(we got off when the Rotax boy's were on)and the guy's running it were very friendly and helpful.

By the end of the mornings session, much to my suprise,i was really starting to struggle keeping up with my boy.Now i fully realise that arrive and drive karts aren't the best but the difference is quite staggering, especially when a Rotax comes by you.

So im bitten by the bug and i need a kart i can keep up with him in and maybe in the future an occasinal race or two.
So my question is what kart?
Im 40 years old,6ft and 14st with very little mechanical knowledge.........not a good start i know.
Budget:£1000 - 1800

Tattershall runs Formula blue i believe but very few other places in my area seem to,PFI and Fulbeck.
I can't push a TKM due to a knee injury im getting over so is my only choice Rotax.?

Any help for a newbie much appreciated.
