When you buy a duff set of slicks, what are you supposed to do if you put a new set on for race day, 3 lap practice to get the wax off, the tyres get marked in scrutineering, then you have to race on them for the rest of the day - I doubt the scrutineers will listen to "but these tyres are no good" as otherwise its a free for all.
Then - Will any dealer take back full day used tyres - I suspect not, or everyone will just take them back at the end of every race day and say "these were rubbish, give me another set" !
Difficult for those why buy the duff ones to avoid a useless and expensive days racing, let alone get a refund.
