The front fairing flat section was discussed in the recent meeting but it was evident that these can also have drawbacks in certain instances. In a head on collision, it was suggested that a kart could pivot and lift the rear possibly ejecting the drivers into each other. The MSA/FIA do not want to introduce a design change without a proven benefit and this should be achieved by the proposed crash testing before the next homologation is ratified. Until those tests are completed it's purely speculation as to what the new bodywork will look like.

As stated in an earlier thread, the MSA are not permitted to browse these forums so if you feel you have a concern or an idea that could improve safety then posting them on here does not give them visibility, you should engage the MSA directly with facts supported by evidence where possible; John Ryan is very approachable on the subject of kart safety.
