It is sad that my first posting on this website for karters is negative but please bear with me and I would welcome any other cooments from people who are in this series that have any similar experience.

Like many others we operate on a budget and it was between the newly re-branded FKS and Super 1.

We decided to do FKS due to the media and organisation hype regarding the publicity along with it being aimed at the "younger" driver (Juniors).

Each meeting we attend the rules/regulations seem to change?

Fuel supply has changed several times and without prior notification to us the competitior. For the second time this season we found this weekend that water contamination was in the fuel (we also had this at Rowrah), this time the organisers stated that it was due to how the fuel was stored overnight.....hot day...cold night....causing condensation etc... ? we like many others suffered in the 10 min warm up and tried draining the fuel but still had contamination problems, at this point Vital (fuel people) could offer no alternatives and even though we pay £4.20 @ litre it seemed to count for nothing....on top of this they bombastically closed the fuel shed at 10.30am sunday yet wasn't open for collection till 9.30am yet we had to get ready for our 10 min practice and on going down at the 9.30am there was a large Q already so thought Id leave it till back from 10 min practice, when I came back it was circa 10.40am by the time I arrived at the fuel shed and was told I couldnt get my fuel, they will not carry it over (even though they have a licence to transport fuel across Europe) so Ive lost £48 of fuel.

Queing for our races;

Going down 10 mins early still found ourselves at the rear of a 35 kart Q which meant by the time we got in it was a hectic rush to get sorted, and we were rushed and told to hurry or else we couldnt go out. I mentioned this to the organisers but they didnt listen.

Clutches

Dry was the ruling, so why yet again were we subject to every race to go down with a stripped clutch INCLUDING the clutch shoe itself? dry is dry so surely that was enough ? I am a dad/mechanic with my son (not in a team) so we ended up being rushed again and in doing so hadnt tightened the hex centre nut on enough (my fault I know) so it came off on track which also meant another £80 or so for a new clutch shoe!

Exclusions

In our B final 2 in front were excluded for underweight, they then appealed and they ran out of time so allowed the 2 who were excluded to go through to the A final because they had run out of time for the day, I went into see the officials Sunday morning and by this time demanded my money back as rules are rules, joke springs to mind.

Foreign Exchange

Like other we signed up to this series with all these incentives in mind. We have just found out now that there will be NO foreign exchange for the rotax classes due to clash of dates, rubbish ! They have taken my money, made promises and not delivered, how come KF and Cadets get looked after but we are forgotton? Surely we are the larger grids in this series?

Website

Need I say more? a complete and utter joke from all angles, Super 1 seems to be updated with the basics so why cant this series?

Organisers

Try speaking with any of them and they either shout down at you or just nod in agreement to apease you, pathetic.

Timed Qualifying

All season its been split grids which has caused some to have an advantage over others, the organisers know full well they had messed up in not handing points equally to BOTH grids but here at Genk they bunch us up all together !

Tyres

Shocking. One set of tyres for 2 full days of racing in extremely hot weather conditions, no tyre draw (though they advertise they do) so pot luck as to what you get, unfortunately our parc ferme tyres were half a second away from our well used practice tyres, I know other were affected also. And why can KF have two sets and we can only have one????? I asked the organisers and they stated they were trying to keep the cost down for the competitors....rubbish Carolyn Hoy, look around the paddock and if that were the case why do your much loved KF drivers get 2 sets? we have similar wearing issues also dear.

I could go on and on and on and on but i wont, you get the picture folks.

FORMULA KART STARS IS AND HAS BEEN A COMPLETE JOKE of a series and advise anyone of thinking of doing this series NOT TOO because from our personal point of view we have been lied to, shouted at, mislead and taken advantage of.
