I've just been looking at the comments on the petition. I have to say I'm somewhat stunned by it. Even though I knew the problem existed, I had no idea how many children had actually been injured, this year alone, by accidents involving the ZIP nose cone. As somebody else said, the odds of it being our own child injured or worse are really rather short.
I've reached the point where I will not be entering my son in any more cadet races unless the ZIP nose cone is changed. In fact combined with the hypocritical need to buy new helmets, I now feel compelled to seriously consider quitting the sport altogether.
Can we petition our own individual clubs to ban this nose cone in their own regulations?
