I've just been pondering why my eldest is safe in a JTKM (142kg, 18bhp) with a Snell standard XS V2Pro but my youngest will not be safe in a Cadet (103kg, 5.5bhp) with the same XS, Snell standard, V2 or Duchini.
I now realise that it's so that Mr (I need more money) Hines can keep selling his unsafe, exempt from MSA regs, nosecones and that it's easier for the MSA to force their customers to spend more money than grow spines and ban them.
I wonder when they will deem that Cadet race suits aren't safe enough to withstand the impact of a kart launched by the ramp and ask us to buy coats of armour for our cadet drivers ??
