I have always supported the track, I have been there on MSA race days when I was the only one in the class then two and now some more, but we are a minority, no one is coming because of the conditions, I know about the economic climate and the problems people are having if they require to borrow to make there business work, but what everyone is trying to say is the same. New people will not come and stay racing whilst the paddock and the access road are the way they are. I will be there as I always have and I know a few others will, but we have always been there, new people come, complain about the paddock all day then go and don't come back. The access road has always been poor but it is now worse, and the last thing people remember when they leave is the road because it's the last thing they use, and if they are after an excuse not to return then they have found it.
I have tried to get people to come down and I hear the same things all the time, The paddocks awful, that road in and out is awful there are no grids!
The grids aren't there because people won't come down, and people won't come down because of the problems.
I know it can be difficult to swallow if it's your new busness, but you need to stop telling people what they should do and start doing what they want you to do, and the end of the day the customer has the power, and in this case the customer has voted with there feet and left.
You have inherited a poorly invested business with a number of issues, but you can't re-launch it within a couple of months after just throwing some paint around, real time and money needs to be spent, then re-launch it. People need to see a real change not a new name above the door.
Don't fall into the trap that so many companies fall into, by telling the customers what they want. Find out what the customer wants, then you will understand your market and their needs, people can be very funny over the smallest of things.
