Before you start playing around with set-up you want you driver to get as much time in the seat as possible so that he/she gets to know the kart. Then as you adjust set-up - one thing at a time - your driver will hopefully be able to give feedback on how it felt. Once you have achieved the best with that adjustment - for the conditions of the day - move on to the next one. If you change several things at once then you wont know which helped and which hindered. With the back wheels, moving further out will take off grip. Even in the dry an inexperienced driver may want some rear grip whilst an experienced driver may prefer full-out even in the wet. On a very hot day you may try and loosen everything you can.
