I am sorry to hear this news, but it stirs some happy memories. I owned a Mamba "Le Spectre" between 1997-1999 and although it looked totally out of date with its 25mm axle and odd-looking stub axles and king pins with grease nipples, (and the side pods looked kind of out of place), on the hard compound 100C Vega's it was the best chassis I've ever had, and when we ran the "Hoddesdon Heavy" class at Rye in 99 on the stickier MG tyres that chassis was just awesome! I remember Stan saying that Charles Saatchi (who was a regular at Rye at the time)had expressed an interest in the Mamba so Stan offered him one for a Łmillion!
