So if S1 or Stars has to go out and buy 200 Rotax etc engines and a pool created, year one that would be great, expect costs to competitor to go up but over the season would that be any different to now?

Where it could fall down is if Comer, Rotax etc change a clutch in year 2, 3 then the maitenance and new parts cost will be passed onto the competitor so over time the cost will eke itself skywards?

Perhaps the better way is a buy back? Take Rotax for example, cost of engine and ancilaries approx £2400, every driver racing in the series can "buy back" one engine from a competitor in that racing year at a fixed cost of RRP plus 25%. This would not affect S1 or Stars having to increase the price of entry, could drive those £10k motors away, maybe some super rich drivers would leave, but surely it would attract many more into the National Championships and talent wins out? If the class is sealed then any anomoly found that does not meet the regs falls back to the sealer and not the poor guy who did buy back?

Just a thought, but it could take even more from club racing as it "could" create a level playing field in teh National Champs?
