I've seen the to and fro with sealed or non sealed engines. When you go down that route, ultimately engines still need to be sealed for each meeting, to avoid cheating during the heats by the replacement of conforming parts before the final.
People complain about track time and delays now, but imagine meetings where finals are delayed because the scrutineers are still two classes behind with scrutineering unsealed engines. Imagine doubling the length of time safety scrutineering takes because most of the time is spent putting temporary seals on two engines for everyone.
Sounds odd I know, but that's the world I kart in and it doesn't work.
