SimonS, I was trying not to get bogged down with negativity - MSA karting needs sorting out, with a clear framework that can always work, not something twisted to fit what we've got or be dependant on commercial interests. If you allow one commercial class, you pretty much have to allow them all, or face having to explain to a judge why not! The sport changed by stealth, not by design or by democracy, the msa effectively abandoned it in 1991, leaving it to the abkc to organise, and now they are trying to retake control. Why, of all the suggestors of change here, you should only accuse me of bullying I don't know! By your own admission, the numbers are in decline, so something different needs to happen.

Too time consuming - was a reference to the way that although it has always been an msa requirement that competitors do at least 3 laps practice, only in recent years have clubs been only allowing 3 laps total, thereby forcing those that wish to be reasonably competitive to take part in Saturday practice even for the most humble clubbie event. People have lives and families to consider!

Too many rules - was refering to the technical regs more than anything, where the plethora of regs, many pseudo safety related, are stifling!

No bodywork - I was only suggesting this for one class, my Senior Standard class, and since bodywork was not introduced for safety reasons, and still is not a safety matter, I see no problem there. Karting speeds have not changed that much over the last 20 years!
