QOT - you need to get yourself along to a few of the VERY professionally run non-MSA events and you will be educated. And to say that prokarts are not real karts, come and have a look at the EPEC racing next year and maybe your eyes will be opened; the driving standards, preparation of equipment, team set-ups and organisation, certainly of the top teams, rivals anything I've seen. The karts may not have a lot of power, but are not slow, and need a high level of skill to get the best lap times. I have driver most types of kart, and find prokarts to be one of the best challenges for getting the most out of your machine.
