You can buy the battery and do it yourself, I've done a few of my own. You will need a dremel type tool to grind away the resin. Once you take the lid off the battery is in the left going up the side of the unit (if you are looking at it with the light at the top and facing you, on the older ones that is anyway) and some I have done have a single battery (AA style) whereas others have 3 soldered together in a line, both types of battery are soldered at either end too (to the terminal blades) Just make sure once you have replaced and tested that you replace the epoxy otherwise your soldered terminals may break loose.
