personally i have flushed all grease out of bearings after maybe 1/2 a seasons use when they have bedded in nicely, and run them on engine oil mixed with a friction reducer. Also, if the rear ride height is adjustable on the easykart if the bearings are not in line (can alter slightly when tightened up) it binds the axle.

It will of course make a bigger difference on lower powered karts such as a prokart, where a slight drop in power to the rear wheels will make a bigger difference.
