If anybody raced in tkm in the hey days in the 90's its was quite fair with unwired engines. Yeah you had Catt, Litchfield and Green etc at the front but that was more driving ability than engine. And when you came top 3, they would do a head volume check, check igntion timing, pull head off and check cylinder head with head gauge, and maybe pull barrel off and turn through 360 degrees to check none of the transfer ports or exhaust port had been machined. Those days the racing was very very close and not expensive.
Rotax could be like this and the fiche check is easier. I think the Rotax seal is purely a clever money making exercise.
