Personally I think the seal is a nuiscance. But that's probably because I come from an era when engines constantly blew to bits and I would have my hands inside them after every time I went out fettling them.

Things are very different today. Most people I know don't really care about the seal because the motor doesn't need to be opened up every five minutes.

But as you say, if I'm wrong and there is a major issue with the seal, then it can be solved very easily via the MSA. As we know, they have their fingers on the pulse and drivers' interests at their core. If the majority of their licence holders demand that all MSA races are run without engine seals, then that's what the MSA will mandate.

They wouldn't ask us to fork out large amounts of money in replacing all our Rotax kit by introducing a Rotax clone without a seal... would they ?
