Tyre pressures are pretty closely related to laptimes. That is to say, for a given air temperature, the optimum pressure can be determined by looking at the laptimes being achieved.
To do this:
1) Record air temperature, pressure and laptimes for your own kart.
2) Record air temperature and fastest laps of the other classes.
3) Time the leaders in the heat before your own.
4) Correlate their current laptimes and track temp with your pressure at given laptimes and track temp.
This is about the only way, short of the "finger in the air" of experience, that gives a good current estimate of pressures required. Using previous sessions only tells you if you got it right in that session. It's no good for a changable day.
