From the point of view of 'kart history' and the possibility of one the our best EVER drivers getting us another 'world championship', then, yes, there was an unfortunate incident.
Those of use old enough to have raced and known Lorraine Peck still mourn the loss. In an incident, Lorraine's seat stay went through the seat and then though her back and that killed her.
All my family's seat since then (July 1975) have ALWAYS have large metal plates pop-rivetted where the seat meets the stay, partially, to prevent that happening to my family.
I am stunned that such 'weak' seats can be used at all. 1975 was a long time ago.... but..... some of us still remember.
