Did the 'bad' fuel thing myself once...It really killed the carb/motor. Checked the fuel when I got home and it had large bubbles of dirty water in it....Now I always use a busy garage.
Where you say that the high jet has damage will probably mean that when you check the closed adjustment position you are bottoming the jet out on the carb body. If there is damage to the steel jet then there will be more damage to the 'softer' ali body opening. Not something you can see easily.
(ps..Check the jet closed position with the springs off and mark the carb so you don't go near with springs on)
If you get stuck then use my other spare carb (not 'watched') at Shenny.
Good luck,
Danlee
