The pre 2007 chassis used to lift the rear but they also used to bend easily. The Birel's we've had since are a very good quality corporate chassis but it is very difficult if not impossible to lift a wheel.
They are a proper corporate kart but not as tank-like as some. Daytona also use them for D-max.
I've struggled with these Birel karts as I don't like understeer. However, as mentioned, I've improved this by sitting slightly higher in the seat with an insert.
Club100 have managed to offset the extra weight by increasing the engine capacity (now actually 115 TKM Extreme), but that extra weight means that driver has less of an influence on the kart handling.
