theres plenty of tribology reports out there

advantages are:
much much longer lasting
reduced friction (usually quite a lot as no need for lubricants)
ceramics are a lot harder, i.e. stiffer (much less of a variable while chasing set-up)

the only disadvantage is cost but as they are easier to clean and dont need replacing...

costs will reduce

wont be long before they are the norm i bet. 10yrs?
